Jesse D Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I was asked by a confused modeler in a post earlier If I could change my Avatar. I tried this several times already to no avail. I was uploading JPEGs the same as my current avatar and It don't seem as though it worked. Any idea why?

weasel Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 avatar must come from your computer's hard drive not a photo host...
SuperStockAndy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I don't think you should have to change your avatar only because another person wants you to, in my opinion.
Jesse D Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 Two of us have the same one, It was getting confusing. I never had a photo host. I don't even know how to use one, All my pictures come off my computer's harddrive.
jbwelda Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 i was just messing around with that the other day and i also noticed it was very finicky and unpredictable. i think it has something to do with the pixel resolution or maybe the maximum size of the photo file. but i finally got it to work with a less than optimum choice, but my favorite artist nonetheless.
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 avatar must come from your computer's hard drive not a photo host... This statement isn't true. I have always posted mine from photobucket on all the forums I belong to. Along with the avatar, you must list the correct size in the appropriate lines.

I can't say about Fotki because I didn't like it and don't use it.
