Guest Johnny Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Was it built to your friends size? jesse will add and subtract from any design to make it fit the rider..My chopper frame is a Day tech frame...with it set up for a rider with a 35" inseam....pure coincidence, but it fits me like a glove. I sold my FLHR road king as my back was hurting...I rode the chopper 250 miles the first day and no back troubles. The fit of the bars, pegs, and seat position and height all count...On this build jesse had tall risers..looked to be 8 " at least. What surprised me was no jockey shift...this was built to ride fast and with a 131" motor...its gotta haul. Nice bike in the pics. I have a short inseam (29") anyway so even most production bikes are almost too tall for me. He bought it already finished. it was a bike Jesse had built for someone else that could not come up with the cash to pay off so my friend got it for about 30% off what it would have been. It fit him fine. 15 years ago I probably could have ridden it with no problem. But with a bad back (lumbar fusion at two levels) and the extra weight I added around the middle . Well you get the picture! Truly though I have always preferred the traditional riding position of a stock bike. Even after having owned a chopped 54 Pan Head and an Kawasaki H-1 Cafe Racer in the past!
Guest Johnny Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 There is no comparing the three as they all were a different form of bike. So really the idea of it being a build off was only in the show producers mind! They are losing viewers and they have to do something to try and keep the show alive a while longer. Don't think this was any help though.
Dragline Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 For styling its was Juniors bike. JJ's bike looks like a friend of mine'. It's nearly unridable and he sold it off a few years ago. I agree with the Indian Larry comment. I have a Paucho rigid with a wide glide and my old 73 shovel in it with some Detroit Bro's stuff as well. It's been siting for a few years as I take care of other things before I get back to it but it will defeinitely have the Indian Larry vibe going. It's going to have a remote oil filter and already has a mag. I was actually thinking of doing left hand throttle, left hand jockey with a floor clutch and all that. I scrapped that when I rode on a bike like it and it wasn't for the faint of heart. Almost completely impractical. But very hard to steal... LOL The OCC bike wasn't one. Not sure where Sr's head was when he OK's that design. Juniors bike looks like a good ride, but for that seat. I've ridden my share of rigids but that looks like farm equiptment to me! Bob
glusnifr Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I thought Jesse's bike was the best .It was a ridable bike ,built almost completely by him.Paulies bike ( was more of an art piece) and although I liked the theme ,those tires were just to big .they reminded me of a bicycle from the fifties ,I have watched all the episodes of Sr vs Jr,and i usually like everything Paulie builds, but for this contest ,I feel the bike should have been ridable, and I dont think it was, Sr's build looked like something a James Bond villian would chase him through the Alps on ,with the flamethrowers and all. Just my 2 cents worth..
James2 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) Pure television!! Much like watching a train wreck in slow motion! Edited December 9, 2011 by JAMES2
