57peppershaker Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Ive got some resin bodys along with kits stored in plastic crates in the attic. The crates are dustproof & moisture resistant with bags of silca gel inside. Its getting cold up there at the moment. When I looked at a resin body the other eve, if felt 'soft' ?? Are they ok to keep up there or should they be kept at room temparature if possible ?
dimaxion Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) I had some resin bodys in a storage unit for three years . i did not touch them for a week . I had no problems . One model had a swayback . It was not on the top . Thanx .. To clairfy , the swayback was a completed model . It was not placed on top in a box . Thus the warpage . I had a few others , not on top , did well in storage . I agree , keep them in the house . Where to stash them without her knowing : you are on your own . I don't keep secrets . This is a key for sucess . I know , I failed keeping secrets . Thanx .. Edited December 15, 2011 by dimaxion
Kris Morgan Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I would get them out of the attic and, in a cooler place.
jeffs396 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Send those resin bodies to me!!! I'd store them just like you would any other valuable...room temperature (below 75 degrees), out of sunlight, and low humidity. And no weight on the boxes as to put any pressure on them.
Mike Kucaba Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I stuff (carefully) tissue paper into the larger full bodied cars that I have stored. Also resist the urge to cut out any window flash until you are going to make a effort to finish the build in a short span of time. Beyond that, send them to me! I'll take very good care of them

I live in England, its not too warm up there in December lol Best thing to do is build them! Thats not a bad point ! Just gotta finish all those . . . . . Thanks for all your advice & offers to store them in your house Might have to smuggle them into the house & hope my wife dont see 'em. Edited December 15, 2011 by 57peppershaker
