moparmagiclives Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I'm going to Spokane for a meeting in a few weeks, and was wondering if anyone knows of any good spots for models besides White Elephant. I noticed a new Hobbie Lobby in the vally when I went to Idahoe a wile back but I want ble to stop. Anyone ?
Sam Cates Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Well, let's see, We have: B&B Hobbies at 907 E. Francis Hobbytown USA at 9324 N. Division Michaels at 7630 N. Division and 15523 E. Broadway Hobby Lobby at 13902 E. Indiana ...and of course White Elephant at 1730 N. Division and 12614 E. Sprague If it is price and most recently released kits you are looking for, the caucasian pachyderm is the best place to go. Hobbytown USA carries some detailing stuff but most kits are around suggested retail price. B&B is a bit more expensive on some but cheap on others (ranging from $12-$35) and they have a tons of OOP kits. Michael's is pretty limited on what they carry and I don't buy much there without the weekly coupon. Hobby Lobby carries just about the same stuff as White Elephant but is a little more pricey. Hope this helps!
Erik Smith Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 What Sam said. White Elephant - best prices - Lindberg and some Revell start at $10.98. They sometimes pull some old kit out of who knows where but mostly new releases. Had a Hudson for $22.95. B & B - best selection. A lot of AMT and Model King stuff. Hobbytown I would skip for car models. Poor selection and high prices. The only thing going for them is Tamiya (very hit and miss) and Alclad paints and plastruct parts. Workers there don't really know much about modeling. Michaels - I would skip unless you need a new release and have a good coupon - Limited selection. Hobby Lobby - what Sam said.
moparmagiclives Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 You guys rock !!!, thanks a ton. Should give me plenty to do in town. I've been to both Elephants, and was very pleased with the selections. They didnt have much as far as supplys but great kits.
