rustybill1960 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Custom-Scratch building! Got to love it! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I'm curious what you need to do to make this a Mclaren Mustang other than stuffing a V8 into it. What body mods do you have to do?
Kris Morgan Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Very interesting topic. Like what you have so far.
mrm Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I apologize for my ignorence on the subject, but this is the first time ever I hear about a McLaren Mustang. Did such a thing ever exist or is it just a name you picked for it? And like Dirk asked, what makes it a McLaren? The model itself looks sweet.
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Here is an 81 Mclaren @MRM: Simply put the McLaren Mustangs are much like the Saleen Mustang's, The Rousche Mustang and the Shelbly Mustang from the 60's. Through agreements Ford sent mustangs to these company's and they would tweak them performance wise.
Dirkpitt289 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Now that I see what an older Mclaren looks like I can't wait to see more. This should be an interesting and fun project.
antonesv Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 (edited) thanks everybody. the mclaren mustang kit does not have the big flares like the 1:1 car, but looks like a stock mercury capri except for the front and hood. i always like the flares on the capri and thats why i choose this kit for the build up. antonesv Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 added some paint today. not sure if the pin stripes take away from the fender flares.
