Kit Basher Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 When I bought my airbrush (Badger 200) many years ago, I only had an unregulated tankless compressor. I got a brass adapter to go from the 1/4" threads on the compressor to the airbrush hose. The airbrush instructions said to drill a #72 hole in that adapter for use with the tankless compressor. That setup worked fine. Now I have a regulated compressor that I typically leave set at 100 psi. I can plug the airbrush and that adapter with the hole in it right into 100 psi and it sprays fine. I'm curious if anyone else has tried this rig, and how it compares to a regulated air supply. (Just to be clear, that tiny hole bleeds air constantly.)
regular guy Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) hugh i think with the first compressor the #72 hole in fitting lessened the pulsing. that's the Texarkana way to fix it! i just bought an engine from a guy and guess what he used to run a fleet of and has one one left of? the International pic you got. looks just like it down to black bed or box. scalenut Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 it would be much better to have a regulator/filter so you could adjust the air to a specific pressure.
Kit Basher Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks, Bob, I'm still driving the International in the pic. Thanks, Andy, I will give it a try.
