realgone58 Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 What a bomb! I've had this kit for over 20 years, and for some reason decided to screw with it now. Did it as a curbside because the engine compartment has no detail at all. Used a set of parts bin wide whites with old '50s custom wheel covers that look pretty correct for '48 Lincoln. Had to glue the 3 thousand piece body together first, mocked up on the chassis to make everything line up right. Still need a steering wheel for it as the one with the kit was way too small. Well, it's almost done, will never be perfect, but it is what it is. Only way you can get a '48 Lincoln.
MJStyline Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Funny, I need to build this for a friend...
GTMust Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Like you, I've had mine (the Lindberg re-issue) for a whole bunch of years and got so fed up with the thing that, after painting the body, I just put it back in the box, where it still resides! The same thing with the re-issued Auburn by Lindberg from the Pyro mold..... and that one's even worse! ......... maybe.... one day........ Tony
philo426 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Yeah I messed with that kit but ran out of gas and put it way.
Lanny Haas Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I built the lindburg one. here is what I did with it
rmvw guy Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I like what you are doing with it. Looks like a fun build!
GTMust Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Well done Lanny.... a fitting end to a terrible kit! R.I.P. (But a great build!) Tony
Deathgoblin Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I've got one of these. I'm combining it with the 39 chevy street rod kit.
