I used to tell myself that I kept my very first build as a sort of reference marker, so I might look at my past progress and smile at my former self. But lately all I do is cringe.

Look at this thing.

From what I understand Vipers offer their own special challenges, but i did this so poorly the bumper just fell off while i was taking photos.

I lost a headlight lens, so I opted for the 'no headlight lenses' look. I do remember being (somewhat) patient on the interior, albeit a lack of detail.

This car DESERVES a rebuild, so I've decided to get started. except i think i used superglue.

Oh boy.

thing to remember about super glue is it has lots of lateral strength, but will often pop right apart if twisted even slightly under load. also dipping the car in water and sticking it in the freezer for a day can work miracles.

personally though...i think i would have kept it and bought a new fresh kit to build, then you could display them side by side. great display of your increasing modelling skills.

My closest Michael's has the latest issue of the GTS kit for like $9.99 on clearance. It would probably be easiest to follow that path if you can get it that cheap.

Not much to report. Body is getting a dose of Purple Power, got most everything disassembled, got rid of some mold lines and such. TIP: dont leave de-bonder on too long after the parts separate- you'll get wrinkles in them.

So after hours of patiently de-bonding, sanding, scraping, soaking, and such, I have unfortunately lost this battle. 60% of the parts have either snapped or are still stuck together. So this poor lady is officially SCRAPPED. I'll just get another one, and I'll have a box of (a few) spare parts.

Sorry to hear the project ended up being a bust.

For debonding superglue I have used nail polish remover. Acetone is the main ingredient that breaks down the CA glue. Nail polish remover is super cheap.

Good luck with the new kit.
