Was wondering if anybody had any experience with the ARII Cadillac's? Was thinking about getting one but haven't seen to much on it. Does anybody have any pics?

Hi Jason.

Yes, I built the convertible version and also have the hardtop version in my stash. I found the kit to be very nice and well detailed, but the plastic they use doesn't take well to the regular Testor red tube cement. It started to come apart soon after I built it, (especially the suspension components) so I removed all the loose pieces and put the kit back in the box. I haven't got around to trying it again, but I will some day.

When the pieces came off, I noticed that the glue was sitting on the surface (like white glue would) instead of welding/bonding the parts together. Maybe superglue or some other manufacturer's styrene cement would solve the problem?

Other than that It's a great model. Hope this helps.

They were also marketed by Heller in Europe.

Generally there is nothing wrong with them, apart from that they are way too big for 1/24. They are more 1/22 or something.

Christian - Junkman is correct , the scale is a might large . Meanwhile the top on the hard top was kind of tricky to mate to the body on the one I bought . I loved the overall detail . Sorry, I never photographed that car . Ed Shaver

I built one of these when they first came out. great model with lots of detail. It is marketed as previously mentioned by Heller and sometimes comes as a starter kit with glue and some pots of brush paint.

I believe there is a Chinese version as well, I would think its the same kit but cant remember the make. I saw them in a shop in a Spanish holiday shop, selling all sorts of toys, knives and souvenirs, €4 each, was a couple of years back mind but still worth a search.

The chinese kit is manufactured by "Lee" and it is a poor-quality copy. The plastic looks like someone sprayed some lacquer thinner on it; kinda wavy/orange peel-looking. OK if you're chopping it up and

putting a Chezooom roof on, but for a stock caddy, avoid it.

Ugh, posting on a smart phone is a pain.

Thanks for putting that up. Was this from the original tool under licence?
