So Createx works well on styrene? The bottles didn't say anything about plastic, so I was worried about trying them on it.

Love the color combo!

Nice start, I hope you have done some dry fitting on your chassis to the body or you may be a little upset the further you get.

I am hearing that these chassis are not set up at the proper Ride Height with the wheels and the body on. Most are finding they are having to drop the rear axle mount and cut some of the top Roll Cage down to fit. This way the body will set where it looks scale to the real car.

This is very true. I think its 1320wayne, He did a step by step guide on another forum on how to do this correctly. I started to do it on my Gene Snow Charger FC but not finished it yet.

vwrabbit --- yeah createx does well on styrene...but you need to clear coat it pretty soon after laying colour down...this stuff scratches pretty easy. Being water based It doesnt bond to the plastic like all the solvent based paints, but I like it and have used it on several build with success. Thanks for the comment on color combo...was looking for eye catching and think i achieved it lol

eviltwincustoms --- i have heard that these kits dont have the right ride height oncecompleted, and just by looking you can ell its going to be a little high. I am not too worried since this is my first larger scale build and will be sitting on a shelf most of its life...and isnt as detailed as most builds. Since some of the tubing and stuff was all dry and old (this is the 88 issue) soem of them will not be assembled.

Nitro junky --- yeah i have seen the write up on how to fix the ride height, and it doesnt seem too hard, but think I will just leave this one alone and maube fix the next one I do....

got the engine assembled (was partially built when I got the kit) and done some painting here and there. Alot of the tubing will nto be used as it is all dry and cant seem to get it to work properly....oh well..maybe on next build...here are a few pics...thanks

Well...decided to go ahead and put on a few of the decals I planne don using before clearing the body...as I was putting the first one on (driver side grille) i notice the paint was lighter were the water had dripped from the decal. After looking at it more there are water spots across the nise and hood of the car...so guess I am not goign to be using decals on the body like I had planned. Plus now I have to re-spray the body...well guess this means a cleaner and quicker build.

got a few decals put on last night before calling it a night...will be using a few more, but dont think I am going to go all out like whats called for...going for the custom personal funny car and not the highly sponsored car. here are a few pics...thanks

the grille decals were the first I tried putting on and one folded over onto its self and the other ripped after getting it wet......so going without them unles I can find some more somewere...

also got the side louvers painted black and the window openings trimmed with some black paint...still unsure if I am going to do around the side windows

Ok, got some better pics...I do like how the inside of the body turned out...I brush painted it with the Createx Opaque black and it gives it kind of a hand laid fiberglass look
