Stopped by Sears this morning and had some time to kill so I went browsing. I found these neat little clamps.

The clamp on the left is 4" long needle-nosed and has a low tension spring holding it closed. The one on the right is 5" and has a ratcheting type lock as you squeeze it. Both have easily modified jaws and are inexpensive. $2 & $4 respectively.

Will stop at Sears to gather a few of each of those. Mention of "low tension" got my attention. Most mini clamps are just too strong. Thanks for tip.

I have a few of those but also use different styles of clothespins that we use for laundry. There seems to be numerous types out there and I get them from the dollar store.
