38special Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Here is a 1976 caprice i built in about two weeks or so. I have been out of the model scene for around a year now and decided to get back into it. I warmed my skills back up with this quick build

diymirage Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 looks great, i especially like the upward curve of the rear end, looks like you studied the subject well before building it is it all plastic or were some body panels replaced with pie tins to get the dents to looks so good ?
38special Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 its all plastic. i haven't had much luck with aluminum foil
Dr. Cranky Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Charles, welcome to the forum, and THANK YOU for sharing this build and the unique subject matter. I tell you, it looks just right to me. The weathering on the interior details is spot on. Excellent.
Guest Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Charles, I think I recognize your work. Were you at the show at Hobbytown in Lexington in '08 or '09? There was a very young (early-mid teens) guy there that brought some really nice demo cars. His models had the same rear tires as your build and a lot of the other details that yours does. Nice work either way.
38special Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) Yea i'm pretty sure i was there there both years. i think the first i had a mustang 2 and a 77 monte carlo and the next i had a 85 camaro built like that. I need to dig soem older pics up. Oh yea its no big deal or anything i didn't know it displayed my full name on here. But i go by gunner. it's no big deal i was just thrown off when you posted charles. i had to think who it was lol. i felt like a retard Edited February 2, 2012 by 38special
