Dr. Cranky Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Wow the old man needs some rust in his diet what do you think Doc? Mike, last I heard Donn was considering building something for the TZH SQUAD. Shiny or Rusty, it's all welcomed!
LoneWolf15 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Wow the old man needs some rust in his diet what do you think Doc? Wait a minute , hold the proverbial horses ! Contrary to popular belief , The Old Man knows all about rust , dust , and corruption ! For more than 30 years , not one single piece went onto those train layouts that was not weathered to hell and back ! Virgil is playing you , Mike , cuz he has the pictures to prove it ! lol ! Besides , right now in my life as an arteest , I am in my shiny period ! Bwahaha ! I'm goin buy me a jumpsuit , get a box of stogies , and start weathering everything in sight . Don't stand too close ! I'll weather y'all too ! You'll all look like Dust Muppets and Oscar all rolled into one . Lmao ! am in my shiny period ! Bwahahaha !
plasticbutcher Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) I have used the "old" wolfs formula for painting "shiny" for many years, and now that I have an air brush again----the paint will be flyin, Lone wolf, thank you sir for the insiperation and instruction you have givin over the years And Doc, thank you for posting all this eye candy, it has insipered me to get busy on my 1/16 scale 55 chevy, shiny Rules and rust rocks Edited February 8, 2012 by plasticbutcher
Dr. Cranky Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Donn, your Rusty addiction secrets are never going to be safe with me. Besides, you go over some pretty neat techniques in your DVDs! LOL! If folks only knew how much mileage you get out of using simple pastel powders. Rick, thank you for the kind words. Those of you who know me well know that the only reason why I do all of this is because I am VERY SICK with STYRENE ADDICTION! Delighted to hear INSPIRATION is a TWO WAY street! Cheers to all and thank you for your contributions. DC
Kustom Rodder Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I dont know about you Doc but i think that the old man is on a shiny lock down .
Dr. Cranky Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Yes, that's what I'm afraid, that next time I see him he is going to be glossy and shiny and his lips will be sealed!
LoneWolf15 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Hmmmn ! Me thinks you two yardbirds are in for a shock some time soon ! Lol ! Gotta balance the ratio here , almost 34 years of consistent weathering , ya gotta give me at least 10 years worth of shine time , right ? Besides , if I start going to tha dark side of the equation , Poor Crazy Jim will have a stroke ! Question .... How does one lose a Movin' On Kenworth model truck ? I dunno either , but I did it ! Yeah , Virgil , that's one of them ! Now I have to go looking for one at the end of the month in Richmond ! That will be the crusty offering , the shiny one , now that will show the world exactly how twisted this mind truly is ! Ayup !
Dr. Cranky Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Can't wait, Donn. Yes, let's not upset Jim, he might just burst with extra shine energy! He is a child of the Sixties, after all!
crazyjim Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I never left the '60's. Still wearing tye dye T-shirts, blue jeans, and listening to the best music ever made. SHINY :) RULES!
LoneWolf15 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I never left the '60's. Still wearing tye dye T-shirts, blue jeans, and listening to the best music ever made. SHINY :) RULES! And there you have it ! The Wildwood Flower Child , take a trip and never leave the farm ! Atta boy , Jim ! Sorry , Buddy ! Looks like I'm going to have to go to the dark side for awhile just to prove a point ! Lol ! Wonder if I still remember how to do that stuff ?
Tony T Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Donn...please...no costume pictures...Doc already scarred me for life with his Dr. Dentons!!
LoneWolf15 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 T , No worries about that ! Lmao ! He's on his own when it comes to his fashion attire . Me , blue jeans , t shirts , and work boots work jusssttt fine , thank you very much ! Scaring children , old ladies , and small animals , common place thing ! Scaring grown men on the Internet ? Now , that takes sheer talent and audacity ! It's been over a week and that image is still haunting me ! Good Lord !
Tony T Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Thank God for that, Donn...glad I'm not the only one that is still haunted...I'm gettin' too old for that kind a sceerin...lol
Dr. Cranky Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 LOL! You guys just keep cracking me up. Adding fuel to the fire. Wait until you see my next costume! You can get a glimpse here now:
LoneWolf15 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Awww ! Virgil ! NO ! My eyes are already hurt , but you in that ? Bye , bye models ! I will be legally blind after that horrific vision ! And you ? In jail for life , guilty of extreme cruelty to modelers everywhere !
Kustom Rodder Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Doc fedex the old man a jumpsuit and box of stogies asap he is about to enter the dark side. Edited February 9, 2012 by Kustom Rodder
crazyjim Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Oh no!! You can't go to the dark side, Donn. I don't know if my heart could take the pain. If you do go over, I guess it could mean one of two things for your airbrushing DVD. Either it'll become a collector's item, or become worthless. I hope collector because I bought one. Any plans to create a dusty, crusty DVD? I won't buy one of them. Good luck on your future dark excursions.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Doc , are you trying to get banned? LOL, Andy, of course not. Just saying that part of the costume's going to be that kilt! The hard part is going to be upholstering the model in that plaid pattern.
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Theres some shiny paint jobs there, I don't care who ya are! Schweeeet!
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Did you guys see that white and black fiber Lexus? Now that is shiny!
LoneWolf15 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Relax, Jim ! The Old Man's just going for a stroll through Virgil's territory , one build , mind you ! I will always stay on the shiny side of things! Rust does strange things to people , makes them want to dress up in jumpsuits , smoke stogies , and scare the bejusus outta the townfolk ! Andy , he wears that ... Forget getting banned from the forum , they'll throw him off the planet ! Some kids mommies sure do dress their kids funny , don't they ? Forget the zombies , he'll be a Fashion Apocalypse of the highest order ! Doc , Check your email !
MikeMc Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Donn...if you send me a couple of those "too thick" pictures....I can run them through Photo Shop.... You never know what magic can occur with digital photos...
