Darby Doll gave birth to 7 puppies today. 2nd one died but 6 are strong & healthy! She even let Maggie (Impala eater) sniff 'em & check 'em out. Just a follow up, sorry very little styrene involved.

Congratulations! That brings back memories of my own joy a couple of years ago:

My dog produced this:

And then one of the boys had a cleft palate and the vet told me it'd be hopeless, but Doctor Cranky never gives up:

I spent 3 months hand feeding the little sucker:

Hey, Bart, my apologies for posting more pics of my boy here, but your post really triggered some very happy memories for me. The dog I hand fed and which survived for four years brought a lot happiness into my life. I lost him two years ago. :(

Memories . . .

Congrats Bart. Virg, I did the same thing for a kitten about 20 years ago. The lil fella did fine after we pulled a few teeth that were growing in screwy. How did your pup turn out?

EDIT: Oh sorry to hear that.

Rob, thanks. Runts in the litter always need a bit of help in particular if they have health issues. My vet told me to put the dog down that 99.9% of the time an animal born with a cleft palate will not survive, but I refused the statistics and gave it my best shot. MIDNIGHT (named after the song MIDNIGHT RIDER and because I spent many a sleepless night nursing it) gave us four great years. He choked one night and died.

Bart, would you mind sharing a few pictures? Thanks, buddy.

Update: 4 more pups this morning! Another one didn't make it:( We have 9 alive, Mama is wore out but otherwise fine. Doc, I haven't got my new computer yet (I'm on a cell phone) but when I do, I'll be proud to post a few pics. They will probably look alot like Midnight, being Am. bull/Boxer mix.

Oh boy, I can't wait to see them. Mine are all STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIERS (aka Pit Bulls), but I have an Am. Bulldog that's the sweetest dog in the world, but she's deaf!

Congrats on the new kids!!!!!!!!! I'm a huge animal lover but I only have cats right now. I had seven, but two passed away from Cancer and one got out last Tuesday and I think she's gone for good. :(

She was a Ferrel cat and I had brought her home from work. She never got along with the other cats that are all related so I hope she's happy, wherever she is.

The four I have left were all from a litter that after the mama cat had them, she passed away a couple days later. I had to bottle feed all of them. No stronger bond with an animal when you raise them like that!

Bart, I got the picture, some beautiful pups indeed. If you sell them they will go fast because they all have those great eye patches. It like this breed of dog very much, they are gentle and make great guard dogs.

Thanks, Doc. This is our 2nd male of this type. He's 3 & a great friend & protector of children. Our 1st was a Staffordshire/Boxer mix & he was the same way. Sometimes instinct is better than training. I will always have this type of dog

Bart, they make great family pets. I've always had this breed of dog, although we are not going to bring up EYEGORE into the conversation, of course!
