Junkman Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 That excuse can cover a lot, most of which doesn't make any sense. Detail please. How do they get a return on their investment? It's about life. Not profit.
Evil Appetite Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Make that George Thorogood and we are in business. But would those ankle biters listen? I wouldnt be surprised if they dug it! I'm seeing more and more kids walking around wearing 80's rock band tshirts...because thats what their parents listened to while they were growing up..way to warp a kid! My god-daughter thinks Thorogood is the coolest! She got a 2000 W 5.6 Performance Package Firebird for her 16th bday last year. What does she listen to when she's cruising in the summer? George Thorogood & The Destroyers! She has her dads taste in music.

Evil Appetite Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 false some kids do know the music but to majority its a fashion statement There are always gonna be posers I guess. The kid across the street's a die hard genuine head banger, the neighborhood has no choice but to listen to slayer during the summer but you're right, for some it's a fashion statement

But the majority of those juveniles listens to an atrocious progression of thunks not dissimilar to the sound of furniture being pushed around. They don't listen to real music, like AC/DC, or Mötörhead, or George Thorogood, or Hounddog Taylor, or...
Dr. Cranky Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Well, a lot of these kids move from the school buses over to the Party Buses, lots of people have them now where they get rented for Proms and other school occasions . . . just like the limos . . . and parents really, again, are to blame for it all. I know some parents who pay for their kits to rent hotel rooms when Prom comes around so that they can party without having to drive drunk, which is a great idea, but of course the partying is another issue . . .
Jon Cole Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 they dont they run the bus into the ground sell the parts and get another one or keep it running by updating it. That is exactly what my boss does, and I assure you, there is NO extra money to buy subwoofers, chrome plating, extravagant paint, and other gee-gaws. That is a big investment. My point is, which contractor will charge the school administration less... the one who has stock busses, or the one who has invested thousands, if not tens of thousands, into a rolling custom truck show. I don't think it takes a degree in business management to figure this one out. Don't get me wrong, the busses are cool and all, but that stuff is coming (read: $$$) from somewhere, and I doubt it's from the SAU or the taxpayers.
Austin T Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Man,I wish my school's budget was that good,Were still eating 5 different kinds of who knows what for lunch a week.
Howard Cohen Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I think the buses are COOL and I may have to add one to my 'build' list! Those buses show creativity and imagination and add some colour and pizazz to the average dull day. Too bad so many of you have to turn every fun topic into a political battle...I though this was a model car magazine site
promo55 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I like the buses. It's too bad that most Americans no longer take pride in what they drive. About the lug nut spears, my mommy & daddy taught me that if I was that close to a rolling wheel that I would probably get hurt, and to not be there in the first place! Let's go back to discussing models!
