brett Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 did this one a couple of years ago , first attempt at a dio though most of the effort was directed at the truck. The tree is made from copper wire strands which were wrapped with and old bandage and dunked (litterally ) in a bucket of old paint. The foliage is some sort of fake plant I pulled apart. there some close up pics here http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v392/awesome55/40%20ford%20junker/
trogdor Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Very convincing. I'd be careful on that tire swing. But maybe that explains the holes in the fence
crazyjim Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 That's a really neat dio, Brett. I guess the truck is sitting on a concrete pad and that's why there's no grass/weeds underneath it. The hole in the box works.
GTMust Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 That's great work Brett. Very convincing. Is that a dead bird in the truck bed? Tony
rmvw guy Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I like this a lot. Nice job on the truck. I like the passenger door inside and the hole in the bed is just right! Also the concrete inside the rusted fence posts looks real. Excellent job on a first dio.
GTMust Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Duh.....! That "dead bird" is a hole? Forgive me.... my eyes aren't what they used to be! Tony
Eshaver Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Great work on that truck Brett. This needs to be taken to the I P M S convention in Florida this June . Ed Shaver
Ramfins59 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Great diorama... very realistic... Dynamite work on the truck... Love it...
jerseyjunker1 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 thanks for posting the truck Brett ITS AN AWSOME 40 FORD.I LOVE HOW YOU MADE THE TREE TOO.isn't junk fun.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I like this diorama, and the tire swing is the perfect crowning touch! Great job, Brett. Thanks for the eye candy.
Austin T Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Very nice, just stay away from the tire swing, I have had a few mishaps with them over the years(One involving flying about 15 feet down the side of a bank/sloped hill after the chain broke midair.)
