moparmagiclives Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I know that each show/contest will have their own rules, but for the most part has anyone ever seen a rule that says chrome parts need to be as they are from the kit? Could someone strip them and clean them up, maybe assemble a few parts and send them off to be plated or even use alclads to refinish them? Does that count as modification, even though the parts didn't change,
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 You could plate the body and still be within the rules as most contests dictate. Consider it a finish like paint or Bare Metal type foil.
Eshaver Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Yeah, I guess you could strip parts an do the Alclad route . Ed Shaver
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 You can even "change" them by cleaning them up before replating and still be good. But you can't "modify" them.
