MoparWoman Jamie Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I have the painting dvd , it's great I wish I could get more detail on the Don Yost model Construction 2 disc set ,,.. all I know that it covers is bare metal foil ,sanding tires and swapping motors, but is it mostly aftermarket parts driven or does it teach some scratch building techniques? at 4hrs I wish there was an index to see. or does it include the painting tutorals also ? I agree, I was looking at them also, but just like you I was wondering what all the dvd contains though. Or at least half of what it contains.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Personally, I can't wait for DVD #3, which a little birdy tells me might be in the works!
mikemodeler Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I have watched Donn's painting DVD and learned a bunch and am trying to find some time to watch the second set of DVDs on detailing. if I get a chance to watch them this week I will try to make notes and post them here of the topics covered.
Eshaver Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Bear, I was set up accross the asile from Donn a couple of years ago. Donn amazed me by his talents the entire day showing everyone how to be a foist cklass panter !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
Dr. Cranky Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I did not know the Old Man took his show on the road and did workshops. We gonna have to find a way of bringing you down to Florida, Donn. Well, as long as you bring me a couple of those P. Brother sandwiches!
Models by Bear Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 I really Like how it turned out. when I want a shine i will do it that way everytime. But sometimes That rust just has to come out. Right Doc.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Chris, these days I just sing my own version of that Donnie & Marie Osmond song: I'm a little bit rusty, Jim's a little bit shiney too!
LoneWolf15 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I did not know the Old Man took his show on the road and did workshops. We gonna have to find a way of bringing you down to Florida, Donn. Well, as long as you bring me a couple of those P. Brother sandwiches! Yeah ! , I can see it know ! Trip to Florida , half way there , " Honey , I'm hungry " . " Next exit , Kathie " . " Uh Uh " . " I want the Primanti sandwiches " . " Those are for Virgil , Kathie " . " Too bad for him " ! And that is how the fight started ! You want Primantis , Doc , you come to Pgh and get them ! They just aren't worth getting beat up over ! If I had 5 dollars for every question or explanation I've answered or dished out , via Internet or the shows , I'd never have to work another day in my life !! The tips and tricks DVD covers a wide range of subjects , foiling , decaling , glass installation , detailing of frames , motors , interiors , motors , etc . There is 4 hrs worth of how tos that will keep you occupied for a long time . It will cut your learning curve by years and save you a small fortune in the process ! Don't know what else to tell you guys ! Chris ! Don't get him started on that rust subject again ! He owes me a whole lotta shine time right now and he has to pay up !
LoneWolf15 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Thought you were retired oldman huh. Nope ! 6 years left of 14 to 16 hour days , 4 or 5 days a week ! It's all good , it's not like I have't done it my whole life , right ? Lol ! Now , if the DVDs would sell like I thought they would , I could retire to the islands , fishin' the pilons and drink my Green Label each day . Lmao !

You meant silver or white , correct ? Don't care what color it comes in , as long as it continues to grow ! Too many bald jokes would be comin' my way , believe me , I dished enough out !
