I just bought a Ford Focus and the silver trim in the interior has some scratches and small stains. It looks to be nothing but silver paint (yeah I know, cheap but it is an economy car)so I was thinking maybe I could use Rub n Buff silver to cover the damage. Any suggestions? The interior is otherwise pristine.

before trying anything like that on your 1:1, call the Ford dealer and ask them what they use to cover scratches.... i used to work for Audi and VW and the type of plastic we used and the coating on it was some difficult stuff to do touchup on. we had a kid who drove a MKIII Jetta and he used housepaint (!!!) to do all the trim on his dash..... and then had to buy all new dash parts to replace them, because the paint refused to dry..... give the dealer a call.

What I do overseas is to dissamble the part (s) on the dasboard, sand them, apply plastic primer and normal primer, followed by either color that is appropriate, and coated with semi-gloss clear coat.

It is more work, but it does the trick and looks a whole lot better.

I was looking for a cheap way out but I have decided to get an interior trim kit that looks like carbon fiber and will cover all of the cheap silver painted trim. The cheap interior is the only thing that disappoints me about this car and the same thing is stated in all of the reviews so I was aware of it from the beginning.
