towtruck Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I was doing a little searching on the internet ( always dangerouse ) and I found a reference to a '38 ford custom coupe by Linberg. is this something new ? or did I somehow miss it ? thank's in advance for any help..J.G.
Mike Kucaba Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I doubt it. Either a 1/32 scale,or their interpretation of the "coupster". I suppose it could've been a '38.
Eshaver Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Naw John, the 38 if thats what ya call it is a reincarnated Boyd rod . Testors did it back in the deep darkk ninties . Linburg managed to resruect the tool and pop it out as pehaps , a "new model ".............. Hey, have fun with it , it wasn't my type of a build then . Ed Shaver
towtruck Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 thanks for the replies...it's listed as 1/24 scale looks to be based on there 37 ford custom conv. same wheels & chassis. did a e-bay search and can't find one. several e-stores list is as out of stock that's why I was wondering if it was ever really made..

Steven Zimmerman Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Huh ? what did I miss ? the 38 coupster has been out for ages, I have a couple in the box , sittin in my stash....This kit is EXACTLY as what's shown in thepics...?...'Z'
Casey Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 (edited) You're right, Dave's Showrods 'site has some pics of the 2000 Testor's release of the kit: http://www.showrods....s/coupster.html Did Lindberg ever reissue this kit, or is the Testors version the only one to have been produced? Olds Rocket 88 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 If you scroll down on that Linberg link they are also showing a 37 convertible and a 38 sedan delivery.... wonder if we'll ever see those ??
Nate Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 The roadster version was called Boyd's Smoothster after the actual car. All 3 of these should be readily available on the auction sties and some of the online retailers.
