my80malibu Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 What is a good thinner to reduce this paint?
Chuck Doan Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 A guy at Pegasus Hobbies told me to use Windex for airbrusing 50/50. I haven't tried it yet.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Gabriel, I am assuming you mean VALLEJO ACRYLICS, which come in a variety of lines, including MODEL AIR which comes ready to use with the airbrush. Chuck is right, although I make a mixture of Windex, airbrush matte medium, and distilled water. Then you thin the paints with it starting with equal parts thinner mixture to paint. I really love these paints.
my80malibu Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Thanks for the Advice I really appreciate it
Mike Kucaba Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 As with my experience airbrushing Tamiya paint.I strongly suggest using the manufacturer's own thinner.I tried all the "alchemy" and found theirs to be the best. As an aside, and because of this, I don't airbrush Tamiya much. I would like to try Val's acrylic-Polyurathan primer? (their spelling, not mine). Anyone have a good online source for this?
