CorvairJim Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Now the 2005 model......that should be made by Pixar Studios... AWWWWWW!!! It's so CUTE!!! (Sorry I couldn't figure out how to get the quote function to only copy the one image, Mike, so here's the credit to your sleuthing for this pic. You're right, this one should have been a reporter in "Cars 2".)
CorvairJim Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 This 1961Mitsubishi 500 had me going for a while too:
MikeMc Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I love the lift kit......Wonder how it drives.... :P
Fabrux Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 This car was apparently based off a British car, so the resemblance isn't that surprising.
hotrod59f100 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 What's the reason for the off road suspension? Did Japan have many paved roads at that time?
Harry P. Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 Look closely at the photos. The car is literally jacked up with portable jacks. My guess would be to keep the weight and stress off the suspension while the car is displayed.

Pre Monster truck days.....Early body lift...... :P I think it was a postwar Japans answer to the jeep....Notice the tires......

Ok , I'm done laughing . This is a clue on how it rode . Like a Jeep . "Rock Steady" describes the ride . Not only a Rock Song . Also , possibly a boobie trap . Get too close and they gotcha , as the car falls on you . Remember ..no touching ! Thanx .. Edited February 27, 2012 by dimaxion
