Crazy8 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Is there a source or maybe a couple reliable sources that you all go to if your just looking for tires and rims? Im curious because I think with my 32' Ford Sedan project I want to do a unique set of wheels for the look I am going for. Thanks
Rob McKee Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I use Pegasus wheel for many of my builds. http://www.modelexpress.net/ carries them.
VW Dave Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I'd like to know what look you're going for, before pointing you in any direction. If you really want "unique" wheels, you might be better off fabbing a one-off set.
Crazy8 Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Well Im thinking lo-pros for the rubber and something kind of classic for the rims. Maybe rims like this... http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/pgh/pgh2301.htm ...or something similar to this http://www.carsrun.com/the-retro-ma-de-spyder-inspired-by-the-legendary-porsche-550/ But with tires like this... www.hobbylinc.com/htm/pgh/pgh1198.htm Perhaps in some way by posting the links i may have answered my own question. But further more to the questioning, would I need to buy more than one set of tires w/rims just to get the tire/rim combo im looking for?
Casey Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 You probably have to decide on either wheels and tires first, then fit one to the other. As Dave said, any Pegasus wheel isn't going to be unique, but they are nice, and maybe you can just use the tires and find different wheels.
AZ Boy Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Machined Aluminum Specialties (MAS) has a nice selection of custom wheels that might fit the bill. Just google them.
