Dr. Cranky
Well, here's another related comment to this question about diecasts. I've had people ask me why I build models when I can clearly same my time and just buy and collect diecasts. Questions like that have always made me think the person asking is from another planet. heatride
Well with a clockmaking background and jewelry repair this might really sound weird but then again maybe not . You can scatter a clock all over the house and I can pick up the parts and have it running in about a hour maybe 2 . The reason being the parts are so precise like you folks are talking about. That being said I like the plastic models because its so different . Its fun getting things that don't fit to fit. I admire the quality of those high end kits but the plastic jobs are just a blast . And for the record I really don't see were much of what I did comes into play with the models .
Dr. Cranky
Glenn, I like what you are saying and it's a good reminder as to why most of us don't end up ever building box stock. It's the variety and the surprises that I really crave in every styrene journey I embark upon.
