Mercman Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Okay started on building #2 for this area. I was going to do it as a art gallery, but decided to do a Music store instead. I started with this kit. Then got the floor, and the interior walls done. Also have hole drilled for lights in the second floor to show case the merchandise.
Ryan S. Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Where'd you get the drum set, and what scale is it, approximitly? As a drummer, I'd love to have a set to put in the back of a model truck! Nice start of the building too, btw!
Romell R Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Its all HO or 1/87th scale this is a train scenery kit.

Dr. Cranky Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Wow, Junior, that's great scratch-building on the drum set. This is looking real good, keep it going.

Eshaver Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Very interesting Junior! keep up the great work on this . Ole Dave is probably going head to head right now . Ed Shaver
Mercman Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Also decided to make the block bigger. Here are the first, and second section together before. Then with the new bases being constructed. I measured 3 times to get it right, and its 1/8th in. to high. Going to have to trim the bottom. Luckily I haven't glued the boards yet.
Mercman Posted March 1, 2012 Author Posted March 1, 2012 Looking at it I need to clean the front up a little. Mainly on the bottom. What do you guys think, yes/no?
GTMust Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It does look a little derelict.... especially if the store is still in business. But again, it depends on the neighbourhood and the condition of the adjoining properties. The whole dio is really coming alive, Junior. It's going to be HUGE!!!. I'm really enjoying the progress on this one. Tony

Mom and Pop were getting old and the kids wanted nothing to to with a dying business and the places just plain got ran down and eventually they closed!

Eventually there will be a few that do look like that, but this one will get cleaned up a bit.
