Has anyone built a front wheel drive drag car? I want to build a replica civic drag car out of of a magazine when I learn some more scratch building skills first. I'm hoping there is a few out there. If you have could you post up pics.

I had a project a while back that I need to get back going of a fwd civic drag car. It does take alot of scratch building, I was going to use all the interior stuff out of a nascar model like all of the electronics and dash stuff. I would love to see another one built and maybe it would get me to finish mine.

that's like being in a formal tea ceremony, tripping on the monk's robe, dropping the priceless porcelain tea cup, then farting while bending over to pick up the scattered pieces....crickets.....(just havin' fun with you big tires in the front guys)....

I'm actually trying to remember where I saw some decent photos of serious FWD racers....I think it was on Autoblog.com....have you tried there doing a search using "fwd drag"....mind you, you'll get a lot of results which include "Coefficient of drag (Cd)"....but thems the breaks...might take you a while, but I am sure I saw some seriously hopped up FWD drag racers there...

Shaun Carlson built a couple of them in real life. A couple were made into Hotwheels. He built the Meguiers Ford Focus, A Dodge Neon that ran in NHRA Sport Compact Series. Real nice guy. Passed away I Think last year. His company was called Nuform. I can dig out the magazine he signed for me and scan the article for you if want it .

Paul Rossi ran one of the first in a Shelby Charger 2.2. I recall it being blue and silver.

Here is one with the black and white MoPar colors.

That's a good one.... th_smilielolcrying.gifEver see the video where the guy in the Honda miss's a shift and hits first instead of third and he pulls the REAR wheel off the ground about a foot as the car nose-dives?

There was one featured in the other mag about six years back- the photos were smallish, but it did have at least one shot of the model with the front clip removed. That's the only full-on FWD drag model I've seen built.

Here's a couple that I was able to find. No details on either one but pretty good looking builds.

I think the orange and silver one Wayne posted was the one from SA- I've been looking around for the specific issue, but can't seem to find it in my stash.

That build may have been pictured in an SA issue but the pictures that I attached are from one of Gregg's show reviews. All of his pictures are outlined with the grey frame.
