Bartster Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) I finally got a '65 Satellite Resin kit from R&R. Now I can build my tri-fecta. I've seen MANY drag versions of these cars. Would ya'll please post any street versions of these beautiful Mopars That you've built for inspiration? Thanks for your help, Bart Edited March 2, 2012 by Bartster
High octane Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I almost bought a 1:1 Satallite four years ago Darin, but it slipped through my fingers. What you see today might not be around tomorrow as I've learned. Try: www.carnut.com I believe and you'll see photos of what you're looking for.
Bartster Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Thanks, High Octane. I have lots of 1:1 pics, I was hoping to see some built models to help me get motivated.
S. Svendsen Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I haven't built a '65 yet, but here's a '64 Super Stock Savoy I built. http://homepage.mac.com/ssven5/Sites/Svensworldofwheels/images/64_plymouthhemi_page.html
Bartster Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Very nice '64! Thanks! I have a couple Belvedere kits & a couple Dodge kits, I've been considering swapping roofs so l can have a Savoy & a Polara.
Bartster Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 I know these are VERY popular drag racing subjects, but I'm a bit surprised more street versions haven't been built. Not disappointed, because mine might stand out more being "rare" street builds!?
Kit Basher Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Here's a link to a thread about a '65 Polara. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48924&hl=%2B%26%2339%3B65+%2Bpolara&fromsearch=1
Ron Hamilton Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Thank you for the kind words about my '65 Dodge Polara California Highway Patrol Cruiser. I am very proud of the build, as I did quite a bit of research on the real thing. Thanks to Tom Sheehy, and Terry Jesse for the inspiration. Speaking of '64 through '65 Mopars, I am working on a Johan 1964 Plymouth Fury 2 Door Hardtop. It started as a crusty built-up. I stripped the paint job from it, and I combined it with an AMT '69 GTX for a more detailed Chassis and Running Gear. I also used the Modelhaus '64 Fury Promo interior to get the correct bench seat, the tires and wheelcovers from the Lindberg '64 Belvidere Hardtop, and various bits and pieces from the parts box. It has been primered, and mocked up for final paint and assembly. I am leaning towards either a Ruby Red, on Red , or Sequoia Green on Green. I hope to have some paint on it sometime this week.
Bartster Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 That's a cool '64 project, Ron. I have a Lindberg as well as Johans Petty '64 molded in yellow. Lotsa mold lines & sink marks in the Johan. I like what you're doing with yours. Thanks for posting.
realgone58 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Green, green, green,...................too many red ones out there. (I love oddball colors.)
FASTBACK340 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I built this off of a 1/43 die cast piece. The rims & tires are swapped from a 1/43 `32 Roadster. Roll bar is aluminum wire, and the entire project took about a half hour. ! They should all go this smooth & quick at times
Bartster Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Here's a Polar Lights Coronet for you. ......Thanks high octane! I have this kit. I want to highly modify it kinda like Brett did his 'Cuda snapper......don't trust my skills yet ,lol. After I get some more bench time in, maybe!

I don't know how you guys do these smaller scale cars. I can barely get my eyes & hands on the same page in 1/25 scale! Very cool, Thanks!
