Hi guys, I really need some help.

I had a little glue on the rear window so I purchased based on the salesman "painta clean" which resulted in a worse problem, see attached picture.

Is there a way to clear the window? If not can I paint it somehow? Like tainted windows (could be cool no?)

Let me know what you think.

You can't paint it - unless you want to paint it black for a very tinted look.

It also depends on the type of glue - if the styrene is melted, you may not be able to repair it.

If it is mostly surface damage:

You can buy polishing kits for the glass. I use a Micro Mesh set. It comes with sanding pads and polish (and a polishing cloth). You start at the coarsest grit and work your way down to the finest, then use the polish. It will take a bit of elbow grease and may take a few tries (I always find a few scratches I didn't get with the next grit down), but will return the "glass" to shiny and clear.

you should get that "salesman" to buy you a new kit for that bit of "help".... the bottle is marked "brush cleaner". if the piece is fully dry, i'd sand it as Erik said and see if you can get it smooth enough with a final polish. at any length, you still have the piece itself to use for a pattern and cut one from clear styrene or acetate.

for next time, keep any type of tube glue away from your clear parts. use the white glue based clear parts cement, or clear enamel to hold in your glass.

O.K.! Thanks for the fast replies!!!!!

If you aren't sure of what to get, you can get MANY botched Kit window repairs at your local Auto Store. Get the least expensive (Manual) Plastic Headlight Lens repair kit and follow it's instructions. They are made for what you're trying to do.

You might also try Novus #1 and #2 for polishing the glass.

The forum rules say you're supposed to use your full name. I doubt that "none" is your name.
