JMD904 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 How could a fully custom bubble top be made mainly from the scratch? I've figured a custom mold or vacu-form it. Any ideas?
Harry P. Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Another possibility would be a portion of a product package. A lot of things come in packages where the product is sandwiched between clear plastic (and usually also a cardboard frame). If you could find a cheap product that was packaged in a package where a part of that clear plastic could work as a "bubble top," you could cut the part that looks like the bubble top away from the rest of the package. Of course, that assumes that you could find a product with the clear plastic packaging shaped in the way that you could use. I'd say take a stroll through the aisles at Walmart one day and see what you find. Another idea: Easter is coming, and you might be able to find some clear plastic "eggs" in craft stores. I know there are colored versions; not sure if they are available in clear.
crazyjim Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Or check with John Teresi "Cyclops trike" who had a friend make him a custom bubble.
