jaydar Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I am doing the factory tri-power engine. I have the Model Car Garage p/e set for the car, but i was hoping for better air cleaners at least as these are quite prominent when you pop the hood. Thanks, joe.
espo Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) Hi Joe. Look for the Revell '64 GTO. I just used the Tripower set up on a '62 Catalina (AMT) todo a Factory Stock build. The air cleaners look just like oems. On a full sized Pontiacs at that time, depending on the horepower level, Thay would either have the small air cleaners with the tops chromed or the lower power engines had the black painted large oval cleaner like the Revell '59 Impala kits. Hope this helps. I forgot, I don't think you could get a factory Tripower in '66. If I remember right that was the first year for the 400 cu in engine and Pontiac dropped the Tripower option. Depending on what you are doing you might try the duel quads out of the AMT '62 Catalina. Thay look real nice and even have fuel lines in the kit. Edited March 10, 2012 by espo
Craig Irwin Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 66 was still 389 tri-power, 400 came out in 67.
