12 Hours of Sebring primer...sort of.

Welcome Race Fans! To those of you who follow road racing, you already know that next weekend is the 60th running of the 12 hours of Sebring. The once around the clock classic run on the rough, tough, runways of an old WWII B-17 bomber base. Well here's a little taste about some of the history. Check out these short films from ALMS.com

Ok, here goes round 2. The 60's: Ford and Shelby enter the fight. Check out the torrential rain storm duing the 65 running. WOW.

The 70's were a time of struggle for Sebring. The energy crisis and the FIA almost put a stop to everything. It also saw the rise of Porsche dominance.

The 80's arrive. THe early 80's saw the all conquering 962 arive. For the first time ever a GT car wins the overall victory, and the emergence of Nissan stops the Porsche winning streak.

Finally, the 90's: Toyota stops Nissan's dominance. Ferrari and BMW reemerge. Oldsmobile wins, and the arrival of the soon to be all conquering Audi!
