jarretfan Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 ok evil bay didnt have any trailers that i liked. please give me some on line sites where i could find a flat bed or a box trailer unless some one has one to sell. thanks
steven Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Hi my name is Steven. On ebay right now there is a amt/ertl great dane box trailer it has the by me now option I think its around $20.00 plus shipping. This kit was rereleased recently so your local hobby store might be able to order you one. Italeri has a american dry van kit out but the trailers height is really noticably to short. When it comes to the flatbed The only four options I know of at this point. Watch for one on ebay with the buy now option. option two keep a eye out at swap meets . Option three See if someone in this forum has one to sell Option four Wait for the rerelease of the old 36 or 38 foot flat bed comes out and if you want longer buy two kits and splice them together.
Aaronw Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 Spalding Trading and shipping has a few trailers available. http://www.stsmodeltrucks.com/index.html
jarretfan Posted June 16, 2007 Author Posted June 16, 2007 thanks. i checked about 20 websites today and i couldnt find a 40 ft flatbed any where. i am getting ready to do the movin on truck and wanted to do a flatbed instead of a box like the tv. show because i have more options of the load i can put on it. i havent built a box trailer in about 30 years but would a box van have the right type of floor details to do as a flatbed instead. thanks for the help
asterisk Posted June 16, 2007 Posted June 16, 2007 I doubt any are in current production. From memory there were a few... From AMT/: Great Dane extendable flatbed (originally an Ertl release)... Fruehauf flatbed... and your best bet, the drop deck lowboy. It was the most recent release so they are more plentiful on eBay. There was also the IMC flatbed and there are probably some resin releases from small operations. Again, all are no longer produced so your best bet is eBay or hunting around.
Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 What's goin' on... Jeff Keep checking EBAY those trailer kits show up there off and on. Reissued kits are still in hobby shops so keep your eyes open. As far as using a van trailer floor for a flatbed that isn't accurate. Have you considered scratch building a trailer?
jarretfan Posted June 17, 2007 Author Posted June 17, 2007 well i am bidding on the flatbed i want on e-bay but somebody is really jacking it up. but im gonna hang on for a reasonable amount anyway.

mackinac359 Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Lindberg/Hawk has just released the old IMC Dodge L700 with the "Big Rig" flat bed trailer. The trailer is very generic and basic, but makes a nice platform to convert into an outside frame flatbed or some short doubles. Tim
