thumper86 Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 Our hobby is all about inspiration and I love it ! It was here when my dad passed this sickness on to me and I hope to give it to as many model builders as I can before I leave this earth lol. Rick and everybody else in this forum are amazing builders and its fun to see everybody share there talents the way it was meant to be .
pharr7226 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 The intake looks great. How about a few shots of the chassis in paint?
tyrone Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Looks great Robert,, you've got these cars down to a science...
thumper86 Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 I will post some more soon . Tyrone I hope you dont mind I love the black camaro you did and wanted to try to the front end .Oh man I wish I did have these things down to a science then They wouldn't drive me nuts lol.
tyrone Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Rob, man thats no problem at all.... I'm not like that by any means... I think it looks great... are you gonna put the park light's in it to?? I love these cars when they still have that stock appearing look, but when they the factory lights etc, back in and not airbrushed are the best.... cant wait to see updates...
thumper86 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 I dont know yet about the Park lights I think I will try and see. Body work is not my best thing to do on a model lol.
GoatGuy Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Are you sure they aren't mid-engine cars? That would explain the turbos in the trunk.
thumper86 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Are you sure they aren't mid-engine cars? That would explain the turbos in the trunk. Oh I'm sure its not mid engine lol. Building them like this gets old at times so you have to go outside the everyday box and do something that pushes you a bit just to get out of the same old thing rut.
GoatGuy Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) I meant the 1:1 cars in the photos. I see yours are not. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a lot about Pro Mod or 10.5 cars. You are doing a great job and I understand about doing something different. Looking forward to more of this build. Edited March 17, 2012 by GoatGuy
thumper86 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 The mustang (1:1) is .... different for sure but I've found pics of the car are hard to find ,or at least I cant find them lol.It would help if I could but Google was not my friend on this one .
comp1839 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 dave, the guys that were trying the turbo's in the trunk thing were mostly 10.5 / 275 radial or some other small tire class were traction is at a real premium.
GoatGuy Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Got it. I depend on guys like you that know. The only way to find out is to ask. I've learned a lot on this site. My wife says I'm obsessed. I say I'm just soaking up good knowledge.
pharr7226 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Rob, the turbos look great in the engine bay and the paint rocks. I love that color.
Romell R Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Or like this : this looks alot like something I built a couple years ago what do you think??? Sorry about the brief Hi-Jack
thumper86 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Romell I love it lol. That was to first real time I tried to weather anything . Very fun build . Yours looks very cool I love the Nova kits .
pharr7226 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) Anybody taking any action on these two? I got fifty on the right lane. Edited March 17, 2012 by pharr7226
Dragracer Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 The Camaro looks good Rob, the paint is excellent!
thumper86 Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Ok back on subject at hand . I did a test paint the other day and it turned into what is going to be the base color of the car with black z-28 stripes. I'm not a fan of yellow and never have been but on this car it seems to work lol. Now regarding the 1:1 mustang the twin turbos in the trunk ideal came from . The turbos in the trunk did work and made in and around 3000 hp and the car was quick BUT the setup was takin out because the car would wheelie like crazy and that cost E.T. witch no drag racer wants to lose . I did find a video of the car in action. Crank it up and enjoy !
