ARTEMIS1759 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) OK so this is my version of AMT Texaco Truck. I love old wreckers so my goal is to build a twin boom holmes set up. Similar to this: But more in this style: This is the twin drum winch setup I will be using from KFS: This is my box of parts scavenged from my main box of parts to include lights, rods and other stuff to scratch this out. And this where I started. I chopped up a blazer frame I had for the rail extensions and cut the 50 Frame in half: This is more or less the truck I plan to build: I was trying to find rims like this but the I had an epiphany lol. Why not by this truck for 30 bucks and scavenge these wheels? Right? I am guessing since I found this boom, this is the wonderful kit it came from lol. Any one got the pieces of the bed they could take a pic of in a blown up picture so I can see how they look. Or maybe the original instructions? http://www.blujay.com/item/kit-MPC-Chevy-pickup-Dukes-Cooter-s-Tow-Truck-1-25-15090200-2366007 Found the instructions so direguard. ARTEMIS1759 Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) No it is the twin drum winch for the booms on the wrecker body. Edited March 15, 2012 by ARTEMIS1759
rmvw guy Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 (edited) Nice pictures, hope you keep this going as I plan to build one. Mine will be more of a hot rod/ rat rod version. Painted an extra cab I had today and got the inspiration. Edited March 23, 2012 by rmvw guy
