regular guy Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 better model builders which kind of epoxy resin works best? it's for 1/8 and 1/4 scale building. right now i'm using Great Planes Pro EPOXY Finishing Resin. Have A Nice Day!
Art Anderson Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 You say, Fiberglass? Does that mean you are using actual glass cloth, to make a body shell? If so, why not use regular polyester resin, which is what fiberglass is almost always laid up with? I've made several fiberglass model car bodies over the years, all of them Indy car bodies from back in the day when that was my particular passion. Works far better than epoxy resins, frankly. Art
regular guy Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 art yes, i am use cloth. i've found out 3/4 ounce is too thin. going to get 2 ounce and 5 ounce from Hobbylinc. i'll stick to epoxy resin. i have Great Planes Pro Epoxy Finishing Resin. it matches up 'drying times' wise with 60 minute Pro Epoxy generally. Have A Nice Day!
