Critter Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 i would like some torque thrust 2's or some weld pro star's and tires i have seen them on a few models and they complete the entire car. where do i find them?
bobss396 Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Do you want plastic, resin or aluminum. JPS makes great aluminum ones but a bit costly. Resin makers like Perrys Resins makes a good variety of them. Plastic ones you'd have to either buy a kit to harvest them or hope to score some at a model swap meet. Bob
Critter Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 not sure what resin is. is it a type of plastic? what kinda of prices are they and where would i get them as well as tires? i'm a noob i finished my 2nd model ever last week.
DarylH Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Resin is a liquid + catalyst compound used to mould parts. Resin parts can be worked like plastic but must be glued with epoxy or super glues. Some plastic wheels here; ......Pegasus is a popular choice.... http://www.rchobbies.org/pegasus-pg2.htm also many guys buy kits to use the wheels from them on other kits.
Critter Posted June 23, 2007 Author Posted June 23, 2007 thanks are there any other sites i should look into?
LDO Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 You can get some nice Torque Thrust IIs out of Revell's '94 Impala SS lowrider version. I found that kit on sale at Wal-Mart a while back and bought several, just for the wheels. If I remember correctly, the old Monogram '87 Thunderbird Pro/Stock kit has Weld Pro Stars. I could be wrong, so verify that before you go on eBay and buy one. DarylH mentioned people buying kits just to get parts...that's what I did. There are other forums out there, but many of us feel that this is the best site for serious model builders. A lot of hard-core builders, a minimum of junk posts to wade through. Any time you're looking for info, just ask.
38 Crush Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Pegasushobbies.com. They make all kinds of wheels, including Torque thrust II's
