How Do I apply decals in a weathered look?

Hey All

I am brand new to this forum and to making / painting model cars in general. I have been involved in alot of custom Remote Controlled vehicle work, but now am settling down into this fantastic hobby.

I am really loving the weathered look of some of these models. I think the rusty look is awesome!

I was wondering how to appy a decal so it looks like old paint or weathed, as apposed to just a sticker.

After it's on and cleared, I'd try giving a it a light sanding with some 800-1000 grit.

u can also dry brush weathered colored paint over it....
