sportandmiah Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Two actually. First, are these the same? does one leave a better shine than the other? Second, I tested the Boyd's clear over white Testors Enamel . Clearly the Boyd's is yellow in the bottle and the other is.clear. I noticed that the boyds clear actually made the white a little yellow looking. Did I not use enough lacquer thinner?
Casey Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 No, they are different- one is lacquer based, while the other is enamel based. Did you use lacquer thinner to thin the Boyd's enamel?
LoneWolf15 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Now you get a Yost Worthy Answer ! Lol ! Doug , as I stated in the airbrush DVD , I do not clear over white with Testors enamels . It will yellow, either right then or there , or eventually ! To say the least , it is inevitable ! I simply polish out the white paint and call it a day ! You will be very pleased with the results by doing so .
Lownslow Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 that clear has a yellow tinge to it i had a white go yellow with that paint now i just use it on anything other than white. tho i had artic blue camaro look like it was driven though a fire because of the clear
