Ira Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Looks Great Don!!! '49 Merc one of my Favorites..on a Funny Car Chassis!!! Works for me...
crazyjim Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Impressive, Don. You know me - if it's SHINY :) I like it. Candy tangerine sounds like a great color. If you need our FAST logo in a jpeg file, just let me know and I can send it to you.
GrandpaMcGurk Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 Appreciate it Jim........why not, E it to me and we'll give it a try. Would be kinda cool to have our logo on a model for our shows.
jnickel Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I like the flat primer idea with the logo.. maybe the logo, some types of sponsor logos.. all glossed out so they pop to the viewer? It looks pretty sweet with the way you lined up the chassis. I dig it!
Trans Am Erik Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 This thing is sweet, I love funny cars. I'm surprized that there wasn't one of these things tearing up the tracks in the70's. Hey Don, have you ever seen the full size pro-mod 49 Merc?
GrandpaMcGurk Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 I don't believe I have Erik......sounds way cool!
rmvw guy Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Wow you got it working! What we've got here is a tutorial.
GrandpaMcGurk Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 Ron if you want to call my post a "tute" that's fine with me. I didn't set out to do a tutorial but if you see anything in my posts that works for you......it yours. All I'm doing is having fun and sharing how I do this and that. I'm no expert and certainly haven't attained the skill level of some of the other members on this forum. As long as you enjoy viewing the pics.....I'm a happy camper.
Trans Am Erik Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Here's that Pro-Mod '51 Merc I mentioned earlier
GrandpaMcGurk Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 (edited) That's wild Erik....here's the last pic for this thread. She's getting ready for paint, next stop Under Glass. Edited April 14, 2012 by GrandpaMcGurk
Trans Am Erik Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 The AWB job for the front came out great. Lookin forward to seeing it done!
Bartster Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Wow, Don! how did I miss this one? I'm probably too late, but I've always wanted to try flat black with BMF flames! The '49 Merc would be the perfect body for it!
GrandpaMcGurk Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 Thanks guys, glad it's pleasing your orbs. So far it's pretty much hit the mark for what I was trying do. I wanted it to at first glance with the body down appear to be just a cool hot rod lead sled.........but surprise, surprise...with the body flipped up...a 70's era full house funny car.
