Ben Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) I just received this from Mattel. It's the first 1/24 Hotwheels car modeled after the original 1/64 version! The Boss Hoss. The car is all plastic but unless you pick it up, you can't tell! As you can see in the pics, it's mounted on a full size blister pack and that is sealed in a full size Protecto Pak. I paid a total of 40.30 for the car with shipping, tax and so on. Not sure if they are going to make more but this one is cool!!!! Edited April 19, 2012 by Ben
SuperStockAndy Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 You mean...the very FIRST one to roll off the production line? Oh, and when I glanced at the title I thought it said "Hot Bigwheel"
Ben Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) Actually, mine is # 1654 of 2000. I meant this is the first 1/24 Hotwheel modeled after an original 1/64 version they made. Edited April 19, 2012 by Ben
Scale-Master Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I can't believe it took this long for it to be made by Mattel. Cool score there.

CadillacPat Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 HotWheels has made 1/24 scale cars for some time. Even the Boss Hoss was made in other 1/24 versions before this one. CadillacPat

CadillacPat I don't remember them ever making a Boss Hoss in any other scale and certainly not in this fashion with this type of wheel and mounted in a blister pack? I've been a Hotwheels collector since day one. I have the Merc that came in the two car set. I think that was the first 1/24 car they offered.
CadillacPat Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Ben, HotWheels made a tuned version of the Boss Hoss. Just one car among hundreds of other 1/24 scale HotWheels. There is a huge difference to those in the know of the HotWheels Community, between a 1/24 scale HotWheel and a 1/24 scale HotWheel in a Blister. In the Hotwheels Community we call those cardboard collectors, who buy for the packaging. Ben may have purchased his for the car, or the packaging. CadillacPat
Mercman Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 The 49 Ford on the trailer is also a 1/25th scale Hot Wheel. Also came with a 1/64th scale.
Badluck 13 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Holy Sweeeeeetness!!!!!!,that is an awesome score, never knew such existed,I want one!!!!

CadillacPat I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong, if I am but I have searched Ebay, Google and I asked on the Hotwheels forum and nobody has heard of one. There's no pics that I could find either? I would love to see a pic if you know where there is one?
Ben Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 I also edited my original post to state what I actually meant. This is the first 1/24 Hotwheels car (that I'm aware of) that replicates the original early models of Hotwheels cars that were 1/64 scale. There are many other 1/24 cars made by Hotwheels in other lines such as Legends, etc. but I am pretty sure this is the first 1/24 "Hotwheels" car with Redline tires and the same type of wheels used on the originals.
Ben Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 I still would like to see a picture of that other 1/24 Hotwheels Mustang (unless it's the Legends Shelby, I've seen that) if anyone has one?
