Hello to all the scale model car lovers... You guys really (no brown-nosing) are such a great help and source of info. Please guys keep it going. Now to the point of this post, I've seen a lot of incredible amazing creations here. From a paint job to a body and engine detailing which is my down point. I'm stuck with my engine detailing, I've seen you guys talking about connecting parts that I don't even know which they are since all I know of a car is that it has an engine and a fuel tank LOL. So my situation is how do I wire my engines in the right way as I've seen in this forum? I don't think all of the awsome engine detailings have been made by guys who know exactly all of the engine parts. So guys bring all your help and comments. Thank u and keep on building. C u:)

Well your best bet is to do an image search of whatever vehicle you're working on, and look for the engine pics for ideas of how the wires are run. Also go to the "how stuff works" website, since it provides plenty of good info.

I will say though that I would say that 99% of the people who do any sort of extra detailing would have some sort of knowledge of how a vehicle works, and most of the engine parts, since it's that knowledge that helps them know where the parts go. However, there is a degree of being able to just look at a picture and compare it to the physical part you have as well.

I think you would get more answers faster if you clicked on Edit, then clicked on Use Full Editor, to change to a more descriptive title for your thread, such as How Do I Wire an Engine? It may even be better if you posted this instead in the "How Do I...?" part of the forum.

To answer your question... you don't need to be an expert mechanic to wire a model engine. You don't even have to know how an engine works! All you need are good reference photos.

The first thing I do when I start a new kit is a google image search. I gather up as many photos as I can find. I build a lot of models that I know nothing about... I rely on photos to tell me how things should look.
