GoatGuy Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 As requested, here are very recent photos of Bruce Larson's Corvette Funny Car and the Tommy Ivo/Honest Charley dragster that he is restoring. Notice the Vette's engine has dual magnetos but one plug per cylinder. Bruce said this is a rare setup. The Ivo dragster is awaiting a couple of parts for the front that are in the paint shop.
gascansam Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Thanks for posting, Dave......gotta love an Honest Charley/Tommy Ivo combo!...
Dr. Cranky Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Another round of wonderful reference pictures. Thank you.
GoatGuy Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 And a mass of photos of his Sentry Olds funny car to come................
gasser59 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Those pix are spectacular. Thanks for posting them.
GoatGuy Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 Hey guys, my pleasure. I feel somewhat obligated to feed you guys reference pics since I can't build the way you do. You guys share a lot of info and photos with us, this is how I can pay you back. I hope to return to his place next weekend to take more. Some guys have asked for certain shots of the USA-1 Camaro and asked questions about driver's controls that I'll have to ask Bruce about. It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it. Ha.
GoatGuy Posted May 5, 2012 Author Posted May 5, 2012 I got to spend over three hours at Bruce's place today, taking more pics, helping him fix a prototype model that he had built years ago, AND he asked me to help him push the Ivo dragster into the trailer. Then he drove the trailer around back where there is more room for the moving van to load it next week. We then unloaded it and he started it up !! It was awesome. When I get the photos off my camera, I will post them.
GoatGuy Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 Check this out, guys...... http://youtu.be/aTLyfAmA8WQ
TedsModeling Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Great coverage, Dave. These photos and those you shared previously are invaluable for the information they give everybody. We can't all be there to see these cars up close and personal. Unless you buy us tickets so we can help you with the pain of doing it all. Thanks again, Dave.
GoatGuy Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 If you go to the Mecum Auction website you can read a history of this dragster and see some great shots of it.
