Big Daddy Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Well after watching Donns video a few times i finally painted a flawless and extremelly glossy paint job with boyds Aluma Yellow Pearl now with it being so glossy should i top coat with clear, i have dupli color clear and testors wet look lacquer clear or should i get the modelmaster clear and air brush it on, i think the rule of thumb is no lacquer over enamel just wondering if that is also for clears
Fat Brian Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 If you have some byods left you could spray some on a scrap piece and the shoot it with the various clears and see what happens. I have put Testors one coat clear laquer over regular Testors enamels without incident but i wouldn't advise anyone to do it without testing it first.
LoneWolf15 Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 (edited) Use the Testors clear top coat ! Enamel with enamel , you can't go wrong ! It will really bring the pearl and shine to the forefront . Always happy to hear that the DVD helped out ! Good for you, fun wasn't it ? The Old Man Edited April 27, 2012 by LoneWolf15
