Kaleb Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Just want to double check with the resin pros. I know resin is not as forgiving as plastic, or so it seems. Is it possible to open the doors on these things or should I leave them alone?
Craig Irwin Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Resin is more brittle than plastic, but I have carefuly opened hoods with great results. Never tryed doors but can't see that being much differant.
Eshaver Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I have done it . Infact , I tried it on one of Ray Parsons . (QUALITY Examples ), that's R & R to those of you in Rio Linda . I used a #11 blade . I was careful and there was enough of a surround to work off of . By that, the cab was strong enough at the rocker and the hinge points to warrant doing so . Ed Shaver
Kaleb Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 Hm, well I may try it then. I'm wanting to detail this thing out and hoped to open both the front and back door but if it's not that strong I will dismiss that.
Gothic Kustomz Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I have open'd and suicide hinged, Jimmy Flinstones, new caddy called Cadalisus, or something like that...
Bugace Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 As resin are more brittle, it also allow thinning better then styrene. You could shave some resinpanels down so You could see through, and as long as it doesn't are stored to warm, it will not warp. Of course You might have very thin styrene panels as well, but they are more likely to loose their shape, and need more support to stay as You wish them.
