Ben, is your kit the Revell edition from 2007? That's the one I have, and came with the wrong tires.

The Monogram kits have the correct ones.

You can still assemble it stock even with the incorrect 1960's tires, but you will have to cut the tires to accept the whitewall inserts, or just to paint the whitewalls.
