RDean58 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Hi, So I'm building this as a gift for my Brother-in-law, what do you all think of the stance I have for it? Tires & wheels are the custom set from the Revell 35th Anniv. Camaro. Plans call for using the custom seats from the 48 Ford Convert kit and maybe the 6 deuce equipped 389 Pontiac from the AMT 36 Ford kit.
Harry P. Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I don't know if you're concerned with realism or not...but with that wheel/tire combo you couldn't turn and go over a bump at the same time without some serious interference from the wheel cutout.
41CHEVY Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I agree with Harry, but as for the stance, I would lower the nose a touch to bring the front fender linse closer to level. Other wise looks like it will be cool! Paul
cruz Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Hey brother, this is one I did several years back with Testor's smoothster set of tires and rims. You can go wild with these kits, a lot of potential. This one is the AMT kit..............
RDean58 Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 I'm not to concerned with realism on this kit. I mean, after all, I "lowered" it in the rear by cutting off the rubber bumpers on the frame and then sanding down the top of the pumpkin until it sat level on the frame rails The front of the frame is not positioned against the bottom of the inner fender panels in these pictures. I may a slightly warped frame because when I hold the frame against the bottom of the front fener panels the rear of the frame raises up from the bottom of the interior compartment. I was thinking of perhaps notching the frame rails in the front a bit for the front axle to set lower. Once I assure myself that the frame is square I'll see what the stance will be like then. Thanks

Thanks Here's how i would make it sit, I always thought woodies should have a decent amount of rake.
RDean58 Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 I'd like to get mine looking about like that as long as I don't have to do too much work. This model will also need to be shipped to Utah from the East Coast so I can't have too many fragile connections. He's not a model builder and would not be able to reattach parts.
