foxbat426 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I mean that! I've been involved in a lot of different hobby's over the years and the model car builders here are by far are the best bunch of people i've met. I'm sure there are exceptions , but no secrets or tips are held back and you can never ask a stupid question - i really feel at home here amongst some very talented people - I'm a beginner and i've caught the bug - great hobby! Just saying - John
Jon Cole Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Yup. Once everyone has been fed, and has their shots, they're a good bunch!
Terry Sumner Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Close between my modeling friends and the bunch I ride bikes with. The difference is that I have to interact with 99% of my modeling friends online whereas all my biker friends are in person....
jamesG Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Yup. Once everyone has been fed, and has their shots, they're a good bunch! Just don't feed us after midnight. Don't get us wet. And keep us out of the sunlight.
rhs856 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I agree with you, John. So many hobbies are plagued with people that are leaps and bounds of the average person and look down on the people that don't throw their whole paychecks into the best "gear" or spend every waking hour doing the hobby. Not to say that there aren't builders that take things to the next next level or spend hours a day building - it's just that the people that do are always willing to offer tips, advice, reference photos, or whatever you need in a friendly manner. As long as a builder is willing to listen to criticism and ask for help, they can find all the support they'll need to become a better builder.
