I have been having trouble uploading pictures to Photobucket lately. I usually upload around 6 MB at a time. When the upload starts, the speed will be at around 50 or 60 kb/sec. Then as it goes, it will slowly decrease to around 30. Usually it stays in the range of 30-40 kb/sec, but sometimes it will keep going down to zero, at which point I will get a message saying that the Shockwave Player has crashed. I know it has something to do with the stupid ad video but I don't know what to do. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix it?

All I can tell you, is that I just signed up with them a few hours ago. I just had a similar problem on Fotki, seems (part of) the problem is too much content. Is your PB account near maxed out?

PB accounts are supposed to have unlimited storage and limited bandwidth. I don't know how much I have uploaded, probably around 200 mb or so. It says I have used 456 mb of bandwidth used out of 10 gb, so I'm no where near maxed out.

I haven'y uploaded in a while, so can't say. It may be a new problem.

Could be due to increased accounts what with fotki's screwing members now.

Since you mentioned the Shockwave Crashed message, I'm assuming you have Chrome (if you have Firefox, this will work as well). Get adblock plus for your browser. You can tell it to keep ads on certain sites (especially ones that use them for revenue), but it will help get rid of the stupid video ads that cause the problems.

How much does it cost?

Thanks, seems to work well, just slows down certain pages a little when loading, but not really noticeable. I'll know for sure next time I upload something big to Photobucket.

Well, I just uploaded 8mb of pictures, which is alot for me. The upload speed stayed within 80 and 90 kb/s as compared to the 30-40 kb/s I got before. Thanks Jordan, this helps so much.

NEW QUESTION:

How do I do a directory album, with subfolders in Photobucket?

I did subfolders in Fotki, was very helpful so all makes had their on folder.

Any help would be appreciated.

Click on "All Albums" in the Photobucket tool bar. In the pop up window (upper Right) click on "Create New Album", the next pop up window gives you options for folders.

Use the bulk uploader. I have had major issues with this, then I found the Bulk Uploader and find it's WAY faster than the other option. I use the B.U. for single pictures, it's just fast and no annoying commercial!

The only time I have problems with PB's Bulk Uploader, is when Firefox updates, sometimes it takes a few days for the bugs to work out. I just switch over to Chrome during this period.

I tried the bulk loader but it just stayed on the loading screen forever. But it's all worked out now and I can upload quickly.

The bulkloader will not work on IE8 on up...It works perfect on firefox.
