I can tell by Box-Art that is a "Promo-Kit" Craftsman/Curbside kit

Unassembled Promo.

No opening Doors, No Opening Hood.

Also, That one is molded in Red.

You have to watch those. Some sellers do not state what color is in the box

nor do they show the end which says.

The seller does say this is a Promo too

Oh, so they are molded in that color rather than actually being painted? Just basically a disassembled promo?

I have the version that's Starlight Black. It's molded in black and prepainted, but mine isn't painted very well. The body is basically the MPC kit unit with a molded closed hood (with shaker scoop, not the turbo hood). The front and rear bumpers, rear spoiler, and wheel flares are separate parts like the kits, but are prepainted. The T-tops are molded in place but could be cut open. The wheels are the snowflakes with gold plating, and the tires are the little Goodyear Polyglas GTs. Decals are red/orange/yellow with the hood bird, little birds for the b-pillars, engine call-outs for the scoop, and three Trans Am names.

I have one but my kit is of the 78 Trans Am has the gold car on the box top. Mine is prepainted Starlight Black and is the unassembled promo of the MPC kit. It comes with gold plated parts, goodyear polyglas gt tires and the gold striping and bird for decals.

Basically you can make a 78 Bandit Trans Am out of this kit if one wanted to...

Thanks for all the info guys! I had never sen these before and thought I stumbled onto a really cool kit. Sounds like it was just an attempt by MPC to get rid of existing Trans Am promos and kits.

Starting in 1975 or '76 the Firebird promos only came in kit form.
