Whats the best way to restore chrome parts?And to make parts chrome that isnt?Got some stuff I wanna like some old wheels and bumpers but dunno where to go or start..

You can either strip the old parts of the plating they currently have and then paint them with Alclad chrome paint or you can mount the parts to "trees" made from coat hanger wire and send them to either Chrome Tech or The Little Motor Kar Co. and they will replate the parts for you.

The best way to restore chrome parts is to have them replated, like Ben said. Any "chrome" paint, even Alclad, is not going to look like actual plated parts. It looks close... sort of... but if you had two parts side by side, one plated and one painted, you could see the difference every time.

I'm not saying Alclad isn't an alternative, especially if the "almost chrome" look is ok for what you want... but you did ask for the best way to restore chrome parts. ;)

Harry! I agree heartily! While Alclad and other silver paints have their place, restoration of model car chrome isn't one of them IMO.
